PNGX to Launch Six Market Indices on 1 November 2019
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – PNGX Markets Limited, the national stock exchange of Papua New Guinea, has announced that it will officially launch six new equity capitalisation indices on 1 November 2019. These indices are designed to enhance measurement and transparency in the PNG capital market.
A stock market index provides a benchmark to measure the performance of selected stocks and is widely used by investors and fund managers to assess investment returns.

Key Highlights
Domestic indices (PNGXD, PNGXDC, PNGXDE) include only companies incorporated in Papua New Guinea.
Market-wide indices (PNGXI, PNGXIC, PNGXIE) include both domestic and foreign companies listed on PNGX.
The PNGX Domestic Index (PNGXD) and PNGX Market Index (PNGXI) are expected to become the most commonly referenced.
